It's been awhile since I've blogged. No one really follows my blog and I wouldn't either except that it's sort of a journal for me.
I went to visit my oldest sister (she's 75 years young this year) and her husband, down in Marion, Ohio. We had a wonderful visit. I love listening to her about her life. I didn't meet her till 1995, even though we share the same mom. Our , mother died in 1965, when I was 9 yrs. old. She would have been about 30 at the time. Anyway, due to circumstances at the time, I grew up under the eye of the children's services , as did my one full sister, whom I was lucky enough to live with in our various foster homes till I was about 13 years old. I didn't see or know much of her after that until she graduated high school about 3 yrs. later. Even then, I was still in foster homes, and school, so I saw very little of her. Perhaps on holidays like Christmas, that was about it.
Anyway, Joann was pregnant with her first child when our mother was pregnant with me. So, consequently I am the same age as my sister's daughter, who is no longer living. She died in her twenty's. Freaky, huh?
Well, when we get on the phone together, we usually talk for about 3 hrs, or so. Her husband Roy is her second husband. She got a divorce from her first husband after about 45 years of marriage. She got married to her second husband, whom she went to the same school with, but never dated, since about 2 or 3 years after her divorce from her first husband. Her current husband and her have been married now for about 7 years, they are very much still in love. And, they like each other, too!!!! We all had a wonderful time together, although it was the 4th of July weekend, we barely noticed. We did all have fun though. Poor Roy pretty much was on his own, he would tire of our reminiscing, he's heard it all before, so he'd go about his business and leave us to ourselves. Now, that's love, God bless him.
I found out on my last night at my sister's via my son's blog that he had lost his girlfriend. of about 2 and a half years, about 9 mos. of which he has been his almost stepdaughter's only babysitter., which by the way really cut into his free time, since her mother was gone Wed.-Sun. from 6 pm till 4am and he was the care giver for the daughter. In fact, his girlfriend starts a new work shift the coming up week, and my son was babysitting her daughter while she was at work on Sat. when she texted him that she wanted to break up with him. She also facebooked him with the same info. All this while he has charge of her daughter's care. That was perhaps done to show someone at work that she really was breaking it off with her current boyfriend, ya think????? Now with her new shift, she can easily get regular daycare. It's not so easy when you work a weird midnight shift. Talk about someone who has heaped coals on their own head, wow!!!!!!!!! Look out, God don't like UGLY!!!!! Boy is this, UGLY!!!!! Now, I know I don't know everything, but come on, there's a right way and then, there's a RIGHT WAY!!!!! Anyway, it's my son and her daughter who are suffering the most. But, I do trust that God will answer the prayers of all of us who are interceding on behalf of my son, and he will find happiness and the one whom he truly deserves. I now this. God guide us all, always!!!!!! That's all for now.

posted by awesome @ 6:25 PM 0 Comments

Sunday, July 27, 2008
update

It's been a while since my last post and once again I've somehow messed up. In trying to remember how to post to my blog, I've created a second blog. Oh Lord !!! Well, I'll keep this short since my computer literate son will have to help me get back on track in the blogging world. I am doing well and have a lot, as usual, to be thankful for. I recently had a health scare, but I'm fine now. It does give you a more intense viewpoint on what's important in life, at least it did me. However, it doesn't help you figure out how to deal with those important things. Oh well, can't have everything. I've got a lot of blessings. I'm just going to concentrate on that for the time being. Bye for now. Whoever might come across this blog, I wish you all the best in life, and many good turns.
Labels: Gotta' get better at this blogging

posted by awesome @ 9:07 AM 1 Comments

A beautiful day!

Well, granted it's been awhile since I've posted anything. All has been rolling along and taking me right along with it as life does everyone. I still feel I'm on the outside looking in, but that's the natural state of affairs for me, anyway. Things certainly haven't been bad. This is the first weekend in two weeks that I've spent any time at home. I am kinda feel'n lost, but hopeful. Two weekends ago I drove my friend down to Cincinnati to visit with, and then bring back with us her son who attends Cincinnati University and hasn't been able to get home for a visit since Christmas. That's way too long to go without seeing your son, so off we went as soon as he got the go ahead to take off some time from his job. Then last weekend, my friend, her son, her step son and I drove back down to Cincy to take him back to his home away from home and back to work. All went well on both journeys and I even got the chance to visit with my oldest sister and her husband as we all needed something to eat just as we came within 20 miles or so of where she and her husband live in Marion, Ohio, on our return trip from Cincinnati. We all got together for a bite to eat at the local Applebee's in Marion, Ohio and I was able to buy a meal for my sister and her husband, in part to celebrate her up and coming birthday of May 22, and also to celebrate, Mother's day, which it just so happened to be that day. Also, when I went down to visit my sis and her husband last time, they insisted on buying out meal when we went out to Applebee's , so it was pay back time. I went to a local theater last night with my girlfriend and saw a co-worker of mine in the play, "I Hate, Hamlet". The actors were excellent and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. After the play we met up with a couple of my friends co-workers and watched some very, and not so very, talented people performing 'karaoke". We danced quite a bit and then moved on to another place where my friend knew the members of the live band playing there. Once again, we danced. Then we went to a great greasy spoon in town for a "Jack's Omelet" that will last through about 3 meals and then home, finally, at around 4:30 am, safe and sound! Whew!!! Anyway, I'm trying to get motivated in some direction today, the weather is fine, the time is mine and all I've accomplished thus far is a bath and talking to two friends on the telephone, one of which is going to take a nap and the other on the way to help out her parents for a bit. All is well with the world as far as my world goes, as far as I know. Love to any and all who find their way to this post!!! That's all folks!!

Life!!! Glorious Life!!!!

Well, today was my first day back to work after taking a long weekend trip. I had from Sat. through Monday to visit with my big sister near Columbus, OH. and her awesome husband, Roy. God Bless him, truly, for putting up with myself and my big sister!!! We took over the house, and whatever room we decided to be in, and he put up with us. My sis and I had a wonderful visit for two and a half days. I hadn't seen either of them since last year in June, at my nephews wedding. Way too long. Until recently I didn't have a reliable vehicle to travel in. Now that I do, I am planning to do more traveling. And especially to where my big sister and her wonderful husband live. I'll try hard not to wear out my welcome, though. I actually did quite well on my adventure. I didn't get lost going down or coming back. Pretty good since I've not traveled hardly at all. Well, anyway, I think it was a wonderful trip. Not all that far, as trips go, but, awesome in my opinion!!! Yeah, road trips!! I plan on expanding my adventures soon, really soon!!!!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://awesomemarsha.blogspot.com/2010/03/life-glorious-life.html' title='Life!!! I always knew it really wasn't worth getting upset about, but a slap in the face, out of nowhere, and people strutting their stuff, just to show who's boss, (As if!!!!!!!), can really get under my skin quick!!!! Gotta get an even thicker skin than what my 54 years on this planet have garnered me. I'm working on it. A very sweet and insightful co-worker of mine had some wonderful advice. She said that from the sounds of it, it would probably not hurt to just look at my job situation as if it were a "Circus that's come to Town". Sit back and enjoy the show!!! In other words, don't take it personally, seriously and certainly don't ever try to make sense of it. Just show up, find something humorous to keep you entertained and enjoy the show. After all, at least this event pays you to attend!!!! So the other day I told my co-worker that I was enjoying watching the elephants at the circus, especially the ones with the pink tu-tu(s)!!!! We both had a good laugh about that!!! I thank God for my friends, they keep me grounded in reality, even when everything seems so unreal!!! So, anyway, I'm fine, all is well and I truely hope everone enjoys the elephants as much as I do!!!!! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!!

Like....?????

Well, like.....got another test that will hopefully not be a cause of anything. I really have so much to be grateful for, this I do know. However, it's a time for the need of some extra prayers. I'd truly appreciate being included during your times of prayer. I will do the same in return. Sometimes things seem to be overwhelming, OK, allot of times, but most times we all hold it together, pray, gain strength and direction, and carry on. Once in a while it feels good to ask for help when you feel so confused as to what is going on. I'm not making much sense even to myself, but I am still asking everyone out there to include me in your prayers. Nothing really bad is going on, but I really feel out of control, and that the situation could quickly become very bad if I don't handle myself correctly. Sometimes, for me anyway, the hardest person to pray for is myself. I guess it's that "forest for the trees", or is it, "the trees, for the forest"? Told you I was confused. I need guidance and strength from above, ASAP. Thank you all so much. It's my prayer for all that God truely bless you.

I wish I had boots......

Today was a day that could have brought a new hope, a new way of being an employee, a good, if not great employee. But, instead, even more of the cow towing (is that spelled right for a word that probably doesn't really exist??!). Oh well, I guess the best lesson I can take away from this demeaning, slap in the face is to not take too much pride in a job well done. That gives your efforts value, and guess what?!!! No one else values you or your work. So it is sad to say this, but if you work extra hard, and take pride in the quality of your work, someone for some reason will find it not a good thing and slap your happy, little ass right down!!! Boy, some lessons are hard to learn. At least for me!! But, I think I finally got it!!! Do the minimum on the job, but make it seem like your busting your ass, instead of really give a dam and really busting your ass. Somehow, a job can evidently be done too well which seems to scare the hell out of others, some of them in the "higher up" category and they'll bring you down!!!! I don't pretend to understand all of this, but now it's clear, even to stupid, dense, me, that although jobs are at a premium, the worst thing I can to do is a good job. Act like your struggling to just maintain the basic requirements of the job and all will be well for you. Dam, I've been so wrong for so long I know it will be difficult to adjust, but I plan on being the best pretender/slacker, and the least accomplished employee that ever existed!!!! Just watch me!!!! The *#@@@ is really getting deep around here, boy do I wish I had boots!!!!!! Hope everyone else has a really good day.

Sunshine!!!!

Yes sir reeeeeee!!! We have sunshine!!!! Today was just beautiful!! I would have loved to have been off work, but hey, it was still worth getting out of bed to see such a gorgeous day. I'm looking forward to more sunny days, as I'm sure most everyone in Ohio is, too. It has been a rough place to live lately, but there does seem to be light at the end of the tunnel. Not too much news in my life right now. My boss of 10 years did retire on the 26th of February. He and his wife stopped in where I work today and left me a very nice card of thanks for the gift I gave to him at the time of his retirement. I haven't had very many people in my life that I have associated with for any real length of time, and Mr. Thompson was one of those few. I miss him. I'm glad for him and his wife, though. Now, at last, they will get to do all the things that work got in the way of, and finally enjoy life together. Anyway, I say, kudos to you Mr. Thompson!!! I'm still trying to readjust to being single, and without kids, and I think I'm making progress. Hell, it's about time, only about 7 years on that road now!!! Well, I had 23 years as single, with kids, so I guess it's alright to still be adjusting, huh?! Well, I'm off to bed soon, and up in the morning 'cause I still got a job, Thank You, God!! Nighty, night all.

Oh, Mondays......

Did you ever notice that sometimes Mondays seem to encourage us to call it quits for a while and call off work!!!???? I don't say it enough, but she is one of my heroes!!
I , also , spoke to my oldest son today. He's living life and trying to make sense of it all!! God bless him. His thoughts somehow still find time to veer towards his mother's well being, even with all of life's other issues to deal with. I choose to look at my free-from -work time as that. Usually, though, it falls short of accomplishment. I tend to over-analise most things, including my free-from-work time.
I will however, find some activities that give me a sense of accomplishment, contributing to others needs and contentment. I always do, for the most part, anyway things at work are inthe hands of the almighty, as they and all things always are!!! Everyone, pretty much, has to deal with the changing job environment in one way or another.
Just as with all things in life, they change, and only time and circumstance will tell if it is going to better our lives, or make them harder. It's all just another twist in the road.
What I do get frustrated about, though, is when people decide to make you a target of some type of frustrating situation, only because they feel they can. Often, it's true that they can, or at least they think so. Later, way down the road, they''ll find themselves, during (or after) some particularly distasteful incident, wondering if at last they have reaped what they sowed!
Anyway, I hope all who (except the one(s) who purposefully harm me), have a great, wonderful day and life. Well, last post I spoke about my water pipes freezing. I can't explain why, but, my water pipes unthawed after just 3 days. The temps didn't go above freezing, but somehow they unthawed. Awesome!!!! Since then I've not had any problem with them. It has been above freezing for the past 4 to 5 days now, though. I am watching the weather reports more closely and making sure that my kitchen faucet is dripping at a quick pace when it is to be below freezing as is suppose to be tonight. I am catching the dripping water to store for later use. I hate to waste it. I hope everyone else is handling the cold weather alright. Well, sometimes I wonder if I have any "True Friends". I know that I do, I'm just feeling bad right now. My water pipes are frozen. No big deal, really. I do , however, have small needs that will require assistance, other than mine.
I need, of all times, to wash my hair! Actually, I need to get it colored. I tried to get myself to address this situation yesterday, but alas, I couldn't make myself do it. Now, I have no water to do the deed, and I can't get a hold of any friends that I'm sure if at all possible, would let me color my hair at their home if I could just reach them. THEY HAVE LIVES IS SEEMS! How dare they!!!!
My oldest friend is not too on the ball today when it comes to anyone, or anything that doesn't pertain to her immediate environment and the rest are unavailable at this time.
I am putting my time to use though, cleaning my domain, as long as I have a cleaner to use and don't need water.
I have been reduced to peeing in a plastic bag lined bucket, so I can let it freeze and put it in the garbage. I can't wait for my pipes to unfreeze and at the same time, I am hoping to keep all waste frozen until garbage day.
I may have to just pull myself up by my boot straps, huh????
Not to worry, I've been pretty successful at doing just that in the past. Bye for now, I gotta get done cleaning and get to Sav a lot's for some distilled water. Take care all. It's really strange how many instants that you hear the word, death used in different art forms: music lyrics, poems, etc....
This is bizarre!

For those who have served on jury...this one is something to think

About..Just when you think you have heard everything!! Do you like
To read a good murder mystery? Not even Law and Order would attempt to
Capture this mess. This is an unbelievable twist of fate!!!

At the 1994 annual awards dinner given for Forensic Science,

(AAFS)President Dr. Don Harper Mills astounded his audience with the
Legal complications of a bizarre death. Here is the story:

On March 23, 1994 the medical examiner viewed the body of Ronald
Opus, and concluded that he died from a shotgun wound to the head. Mr.
Opus had jumped from the top of a ten-story building intending to commit
Suicide. He left a note to the effect indicating his despondency.
As he fell past the ninth floor, his life was interrupted by a
Shotgun blast passing through a window, which killed him instantly. Neither
The shooter nor the deceased was aware that a safety net had been
Installed just below the eighth floor level to protect some building workers
And that Ronald Opus would not have been able to complete his suicide the
Way he had planned.

The room on the ninth floor, where the shotgun blast emanated, was
Occupied by an elderly man and his wife. They were arguing vigorously
And he was threatening her with a shotgun! The man was so upset that
When he pulled the trigger, he completely missed his wife, and the pellets
Went through the window, striking Mr. Opus. When one intends to kill
Subject 'A' but kills subject 'B' in the attempt, one is
Guilty of the murder of subject 'B.'

When confronted with the murder charge, the old man and his wife
Were both adamant, and both said that they thought the shotgun was not
Loaded. The old man said it was a long- standing habit to threaten his wife
With the unloaded shotgun. He had no intention to murder her. Therefore,
The killing of Mr. Opus appeared to be an accident; that is, assuming
The gun had been accidentally loaded.

The continuing investigation turned up a witness who saw the old
couple's son loading the shotgun about six weeks prior to the
Fatal accident. It transpired that the old lady had cut off her son's
Financial support and the son, knowing the propensity of his father
To use the shotgun threateningly, loaded the gun with the expectation that his father
Would shoot his mother.

Since the loader of the gun was aware of this, he was guilty of the
Murder even though he didn't actually pull the trigger. The case
Now becomes one of murder on the part of the son for the death of Ronald
Opus.

Now for the exquisite twist... Further investigation revealed that
The son was, in fact, Ronald Opus. He had become increasingly despondent
Over the failure of his attempt to engineer his mother's murder. This
Led him to jump off the ten-story building on March 23rd, only to be killed
By a shotgun blast passing through the ninth story window. The son,
Ronald Opus, had actually murdered himself. So the medical examiner closed
The case as a suicide.

A true story from Associated Press.

All good things.....

Well it is indeed a sad time. A close friend of my sister's family, and someone I regarded very highly, as she did everyone she met, has passed on after a battle with cancer.
Of course she never smoked, was health conscious, since she was a nurse and worked in the health care industry, and she was one of the, "good guys".
I'd like to take a moment to pass her name about and ask that all who read it, say it when saying a prayer of comfort and guidance for those she left behind. She loved truly and was loved truly. She always will be loved and remembered. Sincerely a wonderful person whom we all would have been bless to know. Her name is Susan (Fulytar), she was 54 years old and brought much love, guidance and care into this world to whomever crossed her path. She will always be missed. God bless you and yours, Susan.

Sunshine....

Ah, There was indeed sunshine out there today!!! Tomorrow is suppose to be even nicer, however, come Tues. there is suppose to be a chance of snow!!! Wow, from the 70's to snow. I really don't have much to say, but I will update a few things. I recently had to do some clothing shopping since I put on about 25 pounds!! I wanted to put on a little weight, but I think enough is enough. I really can't afford to buy more clothes. Well, anyway, I'm trying to eat more healthy. Not so much bad fat, and not so much sodium. So, that's about all that is currently going on right now. Yep, it is still cold (I mean teeth chattering, cold) outside! It's suppose to warm up here in my neck of the Ohio woods though in a couple of days and today is, in fact, in the double digits above freezing. My sister lives in Marion, Ohio and has been experiencing highs in the -17 and -18 degree temperatures. She's well though. She and her husband and their home have survived the temperatures thus far without problems, although her husband has caught a cold. Hope you feel better soon, Roy!!! Usually my apartment has temperatures in the low 60's. I don't control the thermostat and while others boil, I freeze. Go figure!!! Seems to be my lot in life lately, my last apartment was the same way!!! However, since this really cold weather, it's pretty toasty (comparatively speaking) in my apartment. I'll never figure this place out!! I am not complaining at all though-in fact, I'm thrilled. Well, I hope all you out there in the real world are doing well. It seems to go so slowly, but then it's over.
Let's see...I think the last post was around Thanksgiving of 2007, at which time I was still healing from my broken jaw. Ah, getting older!!
Well, after that, I moved the beginning of Feb. '08, as did my son, Jaeson. As a matter of fact he, along with the help of his cousin, Jimmy, moved me one weekend and then the three of us moved Jaeson the next weekend. Actually, it was probably the other way around, but still a hell of a month.
For the next four months nothing to extraordinary went on until the beginning of June. Just about exactly one year after my quitting smoking, perhaps to much for the old girl (me). Anyway, hello!!! It's time to shake things up with a Subarachniod Hemorrhage, otherwise referred to as a form of stroke. It involves bleeding of the brain for no apparent reason (no injury to the head, etc.), at least in my case. As is evident with this posting, I survived!!!! One heck of a outcome since 50% of suffers don't survive long enough to attain medical help. Although I appreciate the outcome, I certainly hope not to do that again!!!
More good news in or about Sept. for my son, he has a new relationship with a local girl in his new home town and that not anything to sneeze at!!!
Thanksgiving this year was spent together with my son, Jaeson and his girlfriend and her family in Pennsylvania. It was a very nice time.
Christmas is now past, and the new year is only days away. It doesn't seem possible. Another year gone. Let us all count our blessings!! I'm sure we have more than enough to rejoice in!! May God bless us all and may we be a blessing to all we touch!!!

A year already!!!

I can't believe that once again another year has been lived and is now gone. I don't think I appreciated it as I should have. It seems that to do so is very, very hard to do. I try to remind myself of all the blessings I have and for a while I truly appreciate the moment. Then all the other things life brings ushers themselves on and around me, and appreciation lacks. I am going to train myself to respond to appreciation, with appreciation. Sounds so simple, but I need full concentration to pull it off. I do realize that the only true way to fail at anything is to stop trying to succeed. I refuse to be a loser as an example to anyone who takes note of my passing by in this life. Perhaps it's age. Hopefully, with (if God grants more time)time, I'll find peace. To all who struggle with depression of any kind, or with life's trials that seem overwhelming for the most part, I understand, I am here to say that, and to hope that we all can find a reason to WANT to keep on, keeping on. Perhaps it will just be as simple as believing that we are here for some reason! If not for ourselves, in some way, for others. Do something wonderful for someone else. It will make your existence feel worth something, at least for the moment. This all sounds like a huge pity party, perhaps in large part it is. Pity for a life screwed over, under, on top....well you get the idea. I think most people have dreams, wishes and hopes. I believe most people want to be loved and to love. I guess what I'm saying is I believe there is a line of demarcation between living and existing. This post will hit home to many who exist, and always have. Outside looking in. God help us. It is not who we want to be..... Don't give up though, even (which, by the way, is sometimes almost impossible not to do) if only as an example to the ones we love and so as to not set a precedence which may be interpreted as o.k. Instead of giving up, write.

Hump day....

Well, it's Wednesday and soon the weekend will be here. Hurray!!! My oldest son is on his way with a co worker to Texas for his job and I will be o my way to Kentucky to attend a hair show with my sister who is a cosmetologist. I'm only going to get away and to keep her company since I'm not a cosmetologist. Well, I just hope things are somewhat back to normal in Texas, they got hit hard by a hurricane recently, I think 'Ike' was it's name. A lot of electrical outages and flooding and other problems , too. We here in my part of Ohio got a lot of damage from high winds left over from "Ike". A lot of people still without electric since Sunday. Lucky me thought got my electric back on Monday.

Been a long time.....

Well It has been a long time since I've added a post to my blog. I doubt anyone even checks it anymore, but It might prove to be a stress reliever, so here goes.
June and July this year were mostly used to regain some type of normalcy in my life. I suffered a subarachnoid hemerage, (that's not spelled right, but it's close enough) commonly known as a form of stroke, at the beginning of June. It just came out of nowhere and took me totally down. I am so blessed to be here at all and especially with seemingly no long term side affects except that I poop out way more easily.
Well, that pretty much the meat of the update. I am back at work and doing ok, I'm just pretty tired when I get home. All things considered, everything is going well. I also got a different schedule of hours at work, which I like better. In part due to my stroke. So, sometimes good things due come out of bad ones.

Mom's

Today I saw people and heard from people that bring me joy. Just 'cause they exist, it makes my life happier.
I saw my 'sister friend', Shelly. She's so sweet and inspiring. She always has a smile for everyone, but somehow when it's your turn to receive one, it sure makes you feel special.
I heard from my friend, Bobby, who is somehow always able to convey to you that you are important. Just as important as anyone in this world. She always has time to help anyone who needs it. And, shes good at it, too!!
Yesterday I heard from another friend, one that I've known for a long time. Patty is a wonderful person who certainly has had her share of downs, but finally, she has found someone who recognizes her goodness and things are looking up.
One thing we all have in common is that we are, of course, all women, and moms, too! I would like to take this moment in time to say to all of us, Happy Mother's Day!!! I love us all!!
Of course, not everyone who brightens my life simply because they exist are mom's, or even female. My son, Jaeson, a.k.a. Paul J, also is in that special group!! And I heard from him, too!! He always makes me feel happy to be alive when I hear from him. I'm so blessed, and so proud of him!! And, I love him, too, of course!!!

What else is new???

Well, we've all been there!! Somehow, although everything seems to be rolling along just as it always does, it isn't!! I've been trying to decide whether my Ford, Tempo (4 cyl./1987) is worth putting new ball joints and wheel bearings on , or not. I thought this was my only decision, however since the news of the ball joints and bearings, she's developed a leak somewhere that causes me to have to replace break fluid about every two weeks when the break light comes on. Also, she has decided to only allow left turn signals to be given. And now, the newest, she has decided to not even try to start, yes I mean, no noise, effort or anything indicating any hope of an engine starting, to be her newest response to my wanting her to take me somewhere!!! I think, perhaps, after much research, that she may need her neutral safety switch replaced, or adjusted, and/or, likewise, her selector linkage. Oh, well!!! Perhaps, this is the fates telling me that it's time to let her give up the ghost and be laid to rest! Or, perhaps, it's a test!! Well, I'll investigate, and ponder for a while longer, and eventually, I'll come to a decision.

Once again...

You know how sometimes we can delude ourselves into thinking one of those ,"If only" or " I can't wait until" thoughts, and just know how great it would be?? What I mean is when you say to yourself, "If only I had the day off, I could get so much done." then when you have the day off, it somehow doesn't work out that way at all. Well, anyway, once again another Thursday has pretty much come to an end and I haven't really accomplished much of anything. Thursday's I get off work at 8 pm instead of 10:30 pm. I always look forward to Thursdays 'cause I think how great it's going to be since I'll be able to get things done after work before the stores close and get to watch some tv, too, since I'll be home earlier in the evening. I don't have cable, so I find it a treat to get to see something besides the late, and late, late shows. Once again though, I didn't really get anything done and I didn't get home before 11 pm. Oh well, I'll keep on try'n! At least I did get to get outdoors for a while. It was a beautiful evening to be outside. He's only been here since January of 2008, so he's still getting used to the place and the surroundings, too. I think he's going to better off where he is now. He misses the solitude of his place in Conneaut, Ohio and, of course, he misses being an Ohioian, though he always will be in his heart. But, all things considered, he's moving on up in all the right ways and I'm proud and happy for him. He's worked very hard at attaining whatever goals he's set for himself, and it's paying off. I know it sounds like just the opinion of a typical mother bragging about her son, but this boy only got less than an 'A' one time from kindergarten, through five years of college. So, it's not just mom's opinion. He's very intelligent, but, not a genius, so he has always given more than a 100% effort to obtain his goals. I don't know where he gets his drive from, but I certainly can't take credit for any of his accomplishments. They're due to his dedicated drive, and his courage to follow through. You go, babe!! I feel privileged to watch you grow. Anyway, I am so glad to be able to spend time with my son. I hope we will always stay close and an active part in each others lives no matter what comes our way in the future. I'm sure we will!!!

I'm learning!??

Well, maybe not. I was just thinking I had figured out one mistake, and I made another. Well, that's how many things are learned, right, through our mistakes!! In that case I should be a master at this blogging thing really soon!!
I spell checked my last blog and corrected everything, I thought, but when I looked it over after a successful posting, all my spelling errors were still there. So back to find out where I may have gone wrong and I decided that I probably should have hit the save now button after correcting the blog and then published it.
Well, if your viewing my blog,I'm sure you can see my most recent mistake...oh well, let's see if at least I'm right about the spell checking. Here come some on-purpose spelling errors which I'll correct and see if I can keep them that way. I hope so. But, I'm not sure. I'm finding it really frustrating try to find my way around in computer and blog land. I've been out of the realm of computer ease for too long and boy am I rusty, not to mention there's been a lot of new stuff added in the last few years. Well, here goes. I just hope it goes where I intend it to, since I have no idea where my last blog has gone to. Perhaps the russians are having fun trying to decipher it as it creeps across their computer screen in some desolate, god forsaken part of Russia. It could happen I suppose!
Anyway, I am just now trying to figure out if it's possible for me to find my way around blogging. Here goes!!
My title says it all pretty much. I'm bound and determined to find a new attitude towards life in general. I'm an old geezer, and probably I should have figure a lot of things out way before this, but better late than never, I guess. As I've grown older I've realized just how little control we truely have over our lives. Pretty hard to believe that I never saw how true this is. For so long I have tried to figure out what I was doing wrong because things just didn't seem to be going the way I felt they should. Oh, boo-hoo!!! Well, not that I'm boo-hooing, in fact all things concidered, I've had a very good life. I'm just pretty dense about somethings. I really thought that because things weren't the way I felt they should be going that it was something to be depressed about, because certainly it was something I should have been able to better control the outcome of, or I should have done something different and then it would have staved off the bad times. But, I now realize, that try as we may and should, we often have very little control over the most hurtful and scarey things that come our way in life. And it's not something that we can control. It's only how we react and how we let it affect us that we have a hope of controling and then in a very real sense we control the quality of our lives. I don't know if any of this is making any sense to anyone, and I doubt that it comes as news to those who do understand what I'm trying to convey, but hey, it something I going to lend a bit of attention to, and see if I can master how my attitude towards life is. Hopefully, it will mean less days of being depressed and more days of enjoying each day of life I'm given. Anyway, writing this was something I wanted to share in hopes that others out there might also find a way to have a new attitude, and a better outlook on life. Good luck all!! Bye for now.

LIFE

Well, I'm sure most people have heard of the saying, ' Just another day in paradise', and it's opposite, 'Just another day in hell'. But I was proud of
myself. I worked hard to get that far, and it was largely due to the
encouragement I had.
I graduated college with two degrees and high honors. I had that same
encouragement.
I became an automation engineer, network administrator, and now a
controls engineer….all with the same encouragement as before.
So with the greatest challenges yet still ahead of me, I look back to
the things I accomplished and understand the reasons behind them. One
of the largest reasons is the encouragement I have always had.
There has never been a time in my life that I can think of that I have
not known that kind of support to be there.
And I wanted to thank you for that. I worked Friday until 12:30 am, (actually Saturday morning). I left work and drove approximately 60 miles to go to my son's place in Conneaut, OH, (I live and work in Warren, OH). I arrived and we planned that Saturday we would return to Warren so my son could help replace a washing machine pump on our washer that he needs up in Conneaut, ( his new enviro since August when he moved there and started a new, better, job). This would get me out of town, which I desperately needed. and conserve gas and mileage on his vehicle, which gets enough miles just going to work and back every day since he lives in Conneaut, OH and works in Erie, PA. I arrived safely and around 1:45 pm on Sat. we head first to the area library to return a book he had that was due and then to Warren, OH to work on the washer. We didn't quite get it all done, but , we're on the right track. Two more errands and we headed back to Conneaut, OH, where my son has to find a golf course his immediate boss expects him to arrive at on Sunday by 11:30 a.m. He not only has never golfed before, but he's never been to where the golf course is located before, either. It in Venago, PA. About 55 min. away. Well let's just say that this is where the day took a big detour towards the bad. There was darkness, fog, bad directions and roads that weren't suppose to dead end, but did. All in all, it was stressful for everyone involved. All went well, however, on Sunday. The course was found easily, and hopefully all remained good. I have to wait to see how it all turns out myself. Well, more that's enough for now. Bye.

What's been going on.

Well, another weekend is in sight. Ya Hoo !!!! There's a lot to do. There's a lot to get done. But.......! Well, the weather is excellent and the sun is calling, so perhaps a little enjoyment will have to be a priority. A ride on my motorcycle, maybe a picnik, a visit to a friend or two, ect.... Work is always a part of life, and I'm making an effort to make sure that enjoyment is just as big a part of life. After all we all get only one.

Soon as I have time to figure it out, I've got some pictures I want to add to my blog. For now this small addition will have to do.

Looking for a deal? Find great prices on flights and hotels with Yahoo! He lives about an hour and a half away in Conneaut, Ohio. I brought some food and when I got there we first went for a short walk, then a short ride then back to his place. He has a really nice place, sort of secluded and real peaceful. Boy can we all use some of that, huh? Well, we watched a movie, and ate some food.
